Amanda Hinnant (PhD, Northwestern University, 2006) is an assistant professor at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Her research interests include health journalism, health disparities, sociology of news, and magazine trends. Her articles have appeared in Communication Research, Public Relations Review, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Feminist Media Studies, and Science Communication. Hinnant teaches courses on magazine scholarship, reporting and writing.
