The Public Relations Institute of Australia, in partnership with the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication, will host the 7th World Public Relations Forum at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 18? 20 November 2012.

 

The theme of the forum is 'Communication without borders.

 

The forum includes a full-day research colloquium on Sunday 18 November, followed by a two-day conference program. It will bring together thought leaders, industry experts, researchers, educators, and delegates from around the world.

 

Academics and practitioners are invited to submit 500-word abstracts to be considered for the Research Colloquium. Please find attached further details for your review.

 

Key dates and deadlines

29 February          Submission of abstracts closes

15 April                  Notification of results

31 May                   Confirmation of acceptance of abstract and forum attendance

30 June                 Submission of extended abstracts and full papers due

The Australia and New Zealand Communication Association (ANZCA) has two new post-graduate representatives.

Lucy Morieson and Diana Bossio are post-graduate students in Applied Communication at RMIT University in Melbourne. They are planning on expanding the post-graduate activities of ANZCA but they need your help!

Lucy and Diana have grand visions of spreading the ANZCA post-graduate network throughout Australia and New Zealand, linked by an online database and a range of interesting, relevant and fun events. We have two events planned this semester and we'd love you and your fellow post-grads to come along.

If you would like to be part of our post-grad mailing list, or know of people that would like information about upcoming events and seminars, please let either Lucyor Dianaknow your email address and we'll add you to our group list. Please pass on this notice to any interested parties.

The Media School at Bournemouth University is offering PhD scholarships in media, computer animation, journalism and communication research, including public relations, including one specifically for an overseas student. The scholarships are for three years full-time study and are valued at £12,900 a year, which can be topped up with casualteaching/tutoring and research support work.

Electronic and Internet Public Relations students at Deakin University, Victoria, Australia, conduct avideoconference once a semester to provide students with practical videoconferencing experienceand so that they can chat and have a fun exchange with PR or communication students elsewhere in the world for 20 or so minutes after a phone or email precursor.

International Journal of Business and Information (ISSN: 1728-8673)

The International Journal of Business and Information (IJBI) is a quarterly publication dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary and multifunctional academic research and management practice across business and information technology (IT) or information system (IS). Since IJBI seeks to contribute to the integration of the fields of business and information, papers in the areas of business and information, management and technology, and theory and practice are highly welcomed for publication in IJBI. As a bi-disciplinary international journal, IJBI particularly encourages multidisciplinary manuscripts reflecting how the successful implementation of IT/IS in international or local businesses and how best to adjust business process, strategy, culture, or organization structure to comply with new IT/IS adoption. However, since IJBI serves as a worldwide forum for scholars involved in both business and information, manuscripts are also welcomed that focused solely on either management or information issues, such as marketing, banking, finance, accounting, operation management, supply chain management, project management, e-commerce, online-banking, internet marketing, consumer behavior in web sites, virtual organization, etc. To achieve a broad range of academic and professional topics, cases studies providing new conceptual or theoretical insights for academics, practicing managers, or information consultants are also invited if they contribute uniquely to understanding business or IT/IS practice.

Submission Guidelines:
IJBI welcomes papers in all areas within business and Information. Please submit manuscript with a brief abstract (100-150 words) and 3-10 keywords indicating the content. Please also provide a cover letter containing the following key information: (1) Title of the article; (2) Names, titles, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses of all authors; (3) A statement that the manuscript contains original unpublished work and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors should submit papers via the website http://atisr.org/journal/ which also provide additionally useful information on the submission process (for example. manuscript format and reviewing process).
